I recently had the chance to travel with a team of people to Quincy to be apart of The Joshua Fest, a Christian music festival, where YWAM was asked to run a prayer booth. I was expecting a rather simple, time of praying with people and talking to them about Missions. What happened was beyond what our team even hoped for. We all have countless stories of bodies being healed, people being set free from depression, people getting Prophetic words which turned out to be exactly what they needed to hear, people being filled with joy--the list goes on and on! This will take more than a few posts just to even give you guys a glimpse of what God did there...so I will start from the beginning..:)
---We arrived Friday night to find out that there was a group of people from Calvary chapel who also wanted to be apart of the prayer tent, so our team expanded by like 8 people. It was interesting because this was a group from a rather conservative church, and we are definitely charismatic...some of us were asking ourselves and God how in the world this wasn't going to end up in a Doctrine disaster...but none the less God gave us the word HONOR, but he also said to let the Holy Spirit do what he wanted! After unpacking and setting the tent up we were able to pray with a few people. Then Michael had an idea that was outside the box: He said that someone should sit in a chair on the street blindfolded and give a Prophetic word to anyone that wanted one. So, I got in the chair and to our surprise no one seemed curious enough to ask us why I was sitting in a chair blindfolded....so we stopped. While I was sitting in the chair I kept hearing the name Sherri, and I kept hearing the words tragedy, and healing. The next day, we had more volunteers come to be apart of our prayer tent and our newest team member's name was Sherri! Instantly I freaked out and told her what God told me, and I asked her if she experienced tragedy and she said she recently lost one person to suicide, and another to an accident. When we prayed her tears flowed and I could see God healing some wounds in her...it was powerful. It blows me away how clearly God speaks to us, even if it doesn't make sense to us at the time, don't throw it away because God is always up to something.
